Udi Water and School Project

Hello all:  Fr. John Uke has made it back to Nigeria, after having a great rest.   The Udi Water project is now going to be called the “Udi Water and School Project,”  (UWSP).  We have gathered books for the schools in Enugu, Nigeria.  For Your information, this is what happened in Nigeria about the schools: After Nigeria was able to break away from the United Kingdom, the government was comprised of mostly Muslim leaders.  They took over the schools in all of Nigeria, even the Catholic schools.  If a book was not Koran based, it was disposed of.  But now the government of Nigeria is run by a Christian, and they decided to turn the schools back over to the local States.  In the State of Enugu, they turned the schools back over the the Catholic Church.  Because of the financial situation, the state did not give any extra money to run the schools.   So now Fr. John (who was placed in charge of all the schools for the Church) is trying to get books for the schools.
We are now trying to get a van to ship the books in, and send it and the books to Nigeria.  Cost to send the van is about $3000.00.  I ask that everyone please pray to help us get the van to Nigeria.
